Hoping someone can help me, I have just purchased a 328I E36 1995, checked the VIN number and the original car was delivered with an Auto, mine has a manual 5 speed (was a japanese delivered car that was exported to New Zealand where I bought the car)...Was hoping someone could clarify what sort of BMW this manual transmission came from:
Got under the car, GETRAG on the bell housing part numbers 014 226 then a seperate part number 220 0 0225 98 or 99 (hard to read last two digits)
Above the fill plug has a sticker MTF LT (can not read the last letter) with a part number 23 001 434 404 (not sure what this is or represents), the primary reason is to work out the transmission fluid I should use?
Hoping someone can help:
1. What type of car did transmission come from
2. What sort of oil should I use?
Car will be used regularly on sprint days at the track
