I believe he meant to say that a '95 M3 engine was installed in 1999, not a '99 M3 engine. Sure doesn't look like S52. :)

Look at the location of the oil cap, it's near the rear of the engine... that's IS an S52 (or at least an M52).

Don't buy a city car, especially New York City car, get a suburban garage queen for about the same money, just shop carefully. Lots of scammers out there who think their cars have gold in the trunk (too high prices).

yeh. what i don't get is that he said it has 99 internals, so he took the internals from a 99 m3 and put em in his m50??? Or did he just drop the s52 motor in place? That's what i was confused about.

Ya i don't know either. I called the supposed shop that did the work and for such a large job as a new motor he couldn't remember doing the job.
