94 525i glove box issues

ok hi everyone. im the proud owner of a 94 525i. im new to the forums here but ive been browsing since i got my car 2 months ago. anyways, tonight after a trip to taco bell, i return home to open my glove box and take out my ipod, and i pull on the latch, hear a loud pop, and now i cant get in it. my question is, is there a way to get into the glove box without breaking it and causing more damage than having to possibly replace the latch mechanism?

Welcome to the board. Don't think this rude, but search is your friend. This has been covered a few times. You're going to need to replace your latch mechanism because it's broken.

but for some quick help.



Under the glove box towards the back undo two latches that will then loosen the box.

then for more foreplay bend down the front of the glove box slightly, and unscrew the screws in between the gap of the glovebox and wood trim.


then use a long rod to press the latch in from the side of the glove box.


this should release it.
