Well its almost time for me to put my car away for a long time..not gonna really be around to drive it next summer so its going into 2 year hibernation..

i know what to do for storage, as i stored it for this past year..but just wanted to see if anyone knew if it was a good idea to drain the fluids this time around?

last year as far as fluids i had fogged the engine, and changed the engine oil before closing it up... everything was fine at start up a year later..did not touch trans, diff, or coolant (though i did change the coolant when i put the car back on the road)

just wanted to check if a 2 year storage anyone had input on if leaving the coolant, diff and trans fluid was ok..

I had an 88 bronco that i just started up after it was sitting for almost 4 years, and there wasn't really any problems... I'm sure you'd be fine if everything in there already is clean. I'd change everything first, just to be safe

Make sure you add some fuel stabilizer and run the engine enough to get it in the engine. Have as little fuel in the car as you can. You are going to want to drain it when you get back. (Even Stabil won't work that long...lol so why have to drain a full tank.) The gas tank is plastic, rust isn't an issue...

Coolant should be fine, but due for a change when you get back.

You might want to plug the exhaust tips. Prevent creatures and moisture. Also intake.

Mouse traps are always good. Don't use the glue traps. Even I think that is cruel. (that's saying something) Glue traps should be used for hairy terror suspects...

A bag of limestone in the car, absorbs moisture too. Or you can get a basement bag at home depot. (same stuff)

The big one is the brake fluid. The stuff absorbs water, nothing you can do about it... Possibly change fluid, and cover the reservoir, Limestone... That's the ticket...lol

Anyway, Good Luck, and be Safe...
