Dome light won't turn with door?

I don't remember, maybe it was always like this, and I'm an idiot. Whenever you open the door (or lift the handle), all the lights come on, except the main front dome light. Turning it on manually, and setting the switch back to the middle position will cause it to stay lit until you start the car, or lock the doors.

What controls this? I'm an EE, can possibly fix some minor stuff.

The central electronics module (ZKE)

I just went and checked mine. In the center position it works, left is off, and right is on.

Yup, the switch works as advertised, just won't turn on with the door opening. I'm looking at the schematics now.
