I can do that exact same thing. I turn the car off and can still put all the windows up and down and stuff. I think it is because there is still an electrical connection in the car

Its normal for the windows and whatnot to operate until you open a door

yea all cars can do it, a charge is still running through the wires..it takes a few seconds for it to be all grounded out. Charge stays because of the lighting and locks that are needed.

why is that annoying?............. Its like that usually even on most new cars, you can roll things up and lock and unlock doors when the car is off until a door is opened..

i can open and close the doors for hours and still does not change anything. my dash miles and trip stay lighted up 24-7 will not turn off, none of this used to do this until about 3 weeks ago its not NORMAL, turn the ignition off and my radio used to turn off with the key being off and now it also stays on this is NOT normal.

is it connected directly to the battery?
also, when the car is switched off, which would it disconnect? the positive or the ground? because it just sounds like the circuit is not being cut? maybe a permanent ground if thats what it is supposed to be or some how getting power from the battery when it is supposed to be disconnected?

thats about as much as i can help you out...

Oh now i see... that would be annoying.. But i would think it would be a circuit problem.. maybe it doesnt know your car is off or the key it off... but idk lol

nah thats simple, the wire that connects when you the key in accesory slot, the spot where the key stops right before ignition, is jumped somehow, and isnt cutting off when you turn the key back. Did your key spin freely ever 3 weeks ago? couldve done some wire mumbo jumbo in there.

Do you have any accessories plugged into the cigarette lighter? My pal had a light that had an internal battery in it plugged into the lighter to charge, and when he turned off the car the light battery fed juice back into the radio/console. He couldnt figure out why he could listen to the radio with the key out ;)

It might just be a relay. Go to the fuse/relay box under the hood on the driver's side and pull out one relay at a time, replacing each one before moving to the next one. It's easy and fast and can't hurt.

Haha my cousin had a 86 camaro in which you could remove the key completely while driving and the car would stay running. Sorry no help but thought it was kinda a funny similarity.
