Hello all,

New to the site, but have been snooping around for about as long as I've had my 5...about 6 years. It's new tire time, and I'd like to change the stock wheels to a model from a newer BMW as well. I've looked around on here for the last two days trying to find a difinitive answer to this question, but haven't come across it. If any of you can help out, thanks!

What models of BMW have stock wheels that can fit to a E39 (5 series, no sport package) without modification/adapters/rings?

I believe that the stock offset is between 15 and 25mm. But i'm currently running stock 15's and can go up to 18s. Specifically, can I use an E65 18" wheel?

THANKS!

The only OEM BMW wheels that will fit with NO modifications would be other OEM E39 wheels.

In order to fit E65 wheels, you'd need to have the hub bore machined out to the 74.1mm E39-specific diameter. I believe the offsets are fine with E39. Also you would need to be careful on what tire size you use...not sure if the OEM size tire on the E65 wheel is right for E39 application.

If you want to stay OEM BMW, you could upgrade to various 17" E39 wheels (Style 5, 19, 32, 42) or 18" wheels (Style 37[MParallels], 32, OEM M5 wheels)
