sorry for so many questions, tell me if i should take these to PM or to keep it in here so others are informed...
if they come in H1, is there a need for the fog light adapter harness?(what is that, anyway?) .. and being that when you turn on your high beams, the fog lights turn off, will that damage the HID's if you flash your high beams repeatedly?

here's good.:)
you would need the fog adapter if you are converting your fogs to hids, since all hids are 9006 based and your OEM plug isn't you need to convert it to 9006.
flashing the highs is fine, dont do it for fun 100 times a minute..:D but under normal use you'll be OK.

Just wanted to say thanks! I ordered these on Wednesday afternoon and they were waiting for my on my front porch when I got home Saturday night. I put them on the car in the dark driveway at midnight so that I could take a bunch of before and after shots (my avatar as of 8/31/08 is with the HID's). I did 9006 6000K with the stock housings.
I will be posting pics showing before and after - and if I have the patience, I'll be demonstrating actual halogen vs HID light output in real road conditions - so that people who aren't sure if HID's in the stock housing is worth it, or if HID's are only worthwhile in the projector housings, can make up their own mind.
I will say that on a road by the house, I always had to run my high beams to feel like I could safely see. Now, with the HID's, I did not need to turn them on and in fact, when I did turn them on, I saw very little improvement over the HID's output (note the high beams are stock halogen bulbs).
Whether or not I get flashed for blinding oncoming traffic with the glare remains to be seen.
Great price, fast shipping, and quality product. Only concern I have is getting the bulbs into the housing was hard - it seems like there is too much gasket or plastic somewhere, as they do not want to push in and slide into the locking position nearly as easily as the stock bulbs. I got them in enough to stay, but far from the full locked position and I am afraid of breaking the bulb trying to turn it anymore. Hopefully it is secure enough as-is though.
Thanks again habbie!
UPDATE: I have driven on the Interstate and many other roads over the past two nights (logged 150 miles at night) and tailed a friend in a Civic. No cops have bothered me, no one has flashed their lights at me, and friend & his passengers said there was never any annoying, blinding glare when I was behind them from varying distances and different grades in the road.

Please by some real headlights when you can please. If you think JUST the HIDs were something... then you'll be astonished once you get something like depo or even DJauto. But you have an M3, so ZKWs for you! :buttrock

hah yeah yeah yeah, I know. However, just spent money on Cosmos Racing CAI and a two month old UUC System U exhaust, so funds for the real Euro projector headlights will have to wait for the time being.
Still very pleased with my purchase.

So, I am getting Low Beam Failure all of the sudden. Lights are still working. I checked the wiring. Any ideas why this would start happening all of the sudden? It happens as soon as I turn them on.

due to the difference in voltage draw by the hid's the OBC thinks theres a shot bulb. i get it every time with my hellas, nothing to worry about. if it annoys you too much you can get LBF eliminator boxes to run your wiring through. dunno why it wouldn't have done it from the start tho...
