Yes

So, the rear sways from an M5 sedan work on the 525T?

Yes you can use the bar from the M5 sedan. Here are the sizes and part numbers for the different bars

- US Spec M5 Sedan is 18mm PN 33 552 226 507
- Euro M5 NRing Package Sedan is 19mm PN 33 55 2 227 005
- Euro M5 Touring prior to 6/94 is 19mm PN 33 55 2 227 005
- Euro M5 Touring after 6/94 and NRing Package is 20mm PN 33 55 2 227 416

Your rear is 15mm stock and your front is 25mm so pick how you want your car to behave you have a few options.

I've got the Euro M5T rear sway bar on my 92 touring. Just ordered it from the local dealer. Took a while to get.

seems to me the racing dynamics kit through bavauto is comparable and easier to find.

i also ordered an M5T 20mm bar for my M5, sedan and wagon bars are interchangable, cost about $120 and took a week to come in. Kept the front bar as is

Why is everyone always talking about upgrading the rear bar? These are rear wheel drive cars, we should be getting beefy front bars, so we lift the inner front wheel around a corner.

because a larger rear bar will reduce the understeer that these cars have, while a larger front bar will cause them to understeer even more, which most find undesireable.

Ahh, makes sense.

the touring already has an 18MM rear bar, so you'll want at least the 19mm or 20mm or you're just getting the same bar!

touring bars are an upgrade for sedan owners.

Racing Dyamics bars would be another option.

Yeah I'd go for the RD kit, not to rain on the parade, but it's just easier AND you get the MUCH stiffer poly bushings. Plus the front is 3-way adjustable, rear is 2-way. I've loved my front bar to no end, I just haven't tackled the rear yet..... (taking out exhaust FTL)

don't have to remove the exhaust, just put a floor jack under it, unbolt the hangers and let it drop down a little for some clearance.

Personally, i've never had much luck with poly bushings being quiet long term, so that keeps me with either factory upgrades or perhaps dinan.

Dinan has smaller diameter measurements than RD, I believe.

Thanks dude, good tip, still a bit of work for a novice like me haha, but I'll just have to grow some balls and knock it out.

Yeah, that's a legit concern, but it's really no big deal, and the pros outweigh the cons, in my opinion. When I first installed my front bar, I forgot to grease it :embarrasm and the noise was just annoying, but nothing severe, just a squeaking sound over speed bumps and stuff. I then tried some anti-seize grease so I didn't risk hurting the polyurethane.

Recently I took the bar out for the third time, and applied some skippy white Teflon grease. I just bought a 1lb. tub of it, and then lubed up the bushings and bar liberally. So far, no noise at all, and this stuff won't dry up like the anti-seize and should withstand much harsher conditions.
