Haha, I don't think you'll want it. Have you considered a cell phone?
I remember reading that BMW ended support for their car phones a few years ago. Just keep in mind, these are early 90's cars....it's 2008.
You might be able to get it for aesthetics but thats about it :(

thats what i want it for..just for the complete look
HARD to find in good shape.
One went through my work last year. Most of the numbers were worn, but it still powered/worked.

YEp, you can't even get service for them anymore... and they take up the only real usable storage space of odds n ends in the front of the car.

In the WHOLE of the car....for those of us with sedans;)

True, forgot about you poor sedan owners without the trunk organizer and cubby. :)
Needless to say, I am so glad I don;t have that POS in there.
I wish someone would come up with a bluetooth display interface that would show up on the Dash...
I only want the numbers to show up when I am being called so I can choose to ignore without taking my eyes off the road as long.
Some guy already hacked the language, but his interface needs a PC to send the commands.

Exactly. Plus you run the risk of a friend spilling a drink on it, when you take a fast right turn....
.....Not....saying....thats...happened.....or..... anything............
The BlueTooth idea is quite clever, and would be interesting to see if it would work. I too remember that video and wondered....."Shoot, what else can it do?" I mean, it might be interesting if you have your laptop in there for work. Have a cable that you could connect and disconnect when you're in the car?

If you can find one, you won't be able to activate it. The phones then used analog service, which was turned off nationwide earlier this year.

I have one in my attic but I don't know how complete it is. It probably can't be wired up but the mounting hardware and brackets are there. $50 shipped, PM me if interested.

haha the phone is so funny, every passenger who climbs into my car comments on it. they LOVE the retro phone look haha. but alas, the old ways of analog car phones have ended. i think i'll hang on to mine just for the awesomeness/looks facter. if someone ever finds a way to wire it up to an iphone, i'd jump right on board with that! :)

I have a least one factory handset, but it's not in the greatest of shape and I'm not sure that it works. Old technology...

I just finally pulled mine out of my car about a month or so ago. The handset was in pretty good shape still.
