Somewhat useless RANT.. of selling my 328is.. THANKS to all

The seller gave me a nice set of headlights. Cause the ones on the car were yellow and nasty. So i pulled em, cooked em up in the oven, buffed em, painted the housings and center holder for the "eye" and installed the clear reflectors.

Awhile back i got a 96 328is. And have really enjoyed packing the miles on.

I have had a few problems...

destroyed the fan

repaired a rust spot

Replaced rear bearing BY FAR TH WORST PART...

Replaced LCAB

new rotors

AC compressor

and a couple other odds and ends that involved grinding with carbide bits, torching etc, the 160k of rust and stripped bolts i had found.


EVERY step of the way i have had questions on here, and i look back and think how dumb and obvious some of those questions were. EVERYTIME i recieved answers without being made fun of or some how cut down.

Well with 160k it is time to send this down the road for something a little newer and faster. I have decided on a 350Z, for i can not afford the E46 M3 i would want. All i can say is there are some good people on the nissan forums. BUT NO forum compares to bimmerforums.com

So thank you to the whole community for there support and help. You all have saved me alot of headaches and money.

Definetly will be back when i can afford another BMW. And i will probably still drop in and out to read the new gossip.:buttrock

What year Z did you end up with or are you looking at?

Been looking at 03-04 under 70k with updated tranny, and tire feathering corrected..under 15k. In a color combo I like. So needless to say im just waiting. I have found cars that meet everything but the color combo.

I looked at 330ci's which is about the only other bmw i would want. But the miles are too high for my price range.

I never used to like Z's until G's started to become like the new CIVIC. Z's look a lot better than G's IMO.

Yah.... the bmw has 160k on it. So its time for it to go to someone is ready for the high mileage problems that may arise. I have tackled alot of them, but after having an 08 car for work provided for me. I get in the bimmer and im like.. hmm it would be nicer to have a newer car .... Really i think im just getting bored.

Well there is nothing wrong with wanting a Z. It's a good bargain for the money without the sagging glove box or door panels that fall off.:D Oh and it's fog lights don't fall off as your driving down the highway.

I will probably be shopping for a couple months.

Guy came and test drove my bmw today. I was like feel free to get on it.. he goes to like 5k and shifts. I was like um NO.....get it up to 6.5k. He was like well its not my car. So next straight he gets on it.. and was like WOW..... alot more then i expected to come from this. He is trying to get the loan for it. so we shall see. I havent really listed it yet, just work of mouth.

There is also a evo ix going through a small local auction from a drug seizure. I may wait and see if i can pick that up and turn it to make money. We have bought a couple cars from the same auction with good results and great deals.

I was like its a 328is... for 3500 that runs great, looks fair-good, and has clean 18's on it..... lol.... Haters. 160k but still.

YAh... sunroof doesnt work, 160k, drivers seat is getting rough.

There is like one long single crack in the windshield. Had a rust spot repaired (getting paint this week over that spot).... prolly gonna need tie rods eventually cause if you REALLLLLLLLY pay attention there is a small feeling at about 55.. doesnt do it going under that or going like 70 but there is a small feeling at that speed.

Small dents.....

M3 front bumper lip is cracked on one side.... still a good looking car for sitting at your local steak N shake.... but just not perfect and it all adds up.

I am sure location is alot of it. I live in an area where the nearest town is less then 100k people.

If it doesnt sell for that i will keep it and run it into the ground.....or close to it... kinda hard to run a bimmer in to the ground:redspot

There are too many small imperfections to sell it on ebay. Someone really needs to come look at it and decide for themselves. If i bought a car like this online i would want to know every detail of imperfection.

I wouldnt feel comfortable selling it to someone without them looking at it ahead of time.... its a 10ft car... looks great from a distance but you can see some imperfections up close.

If this kid doesnt buy it i will try autotrader first.

Thanks....the black is a pain.. And the front bumper is a little agressive for me. But its a good start. I may sell the wheels and swap out for something a little smaller.... Who knows.. its a new world for me.

Still havent sold my 328 yet either... I am not in a good location for selling these kinds of cars... or finding them.....
