Hi All,

I just completed installing a S50 (95 M3 engine) into my 93 325is. I was told that the M50 and S50 have the same wiring harness, so I decided to use the newer wiring that came with the S50.

I noticed a difference when it comes to the wires of the diagnostic port/plug on the passenger side.

Here's a pic of the M50

Here's a close up on the M50 wires that go into the plug.

My M50 harness had wires that goes to the diagnostic port/plug showing 10 wires (Red, Black, Green/blue, Wht/green, Green/wht, Brown/orange, Black/yellow, Blue, Wht/yellow, Wht purple).

Here's the S50's wires

S50 only had 3 (Red, Black, Green/blue).

What does they mean? The 95 M3's didn't have a diagnostic port?

I've attached pics of what I have.

The wires from the main harness seems intact and not touched since the factory.

I looked at the diagnostic cap and only shows 4 male connectors, but the female end has 10, but only 4 connect.

Any help would be appreciated.
