View Full Version : Electric sun/moonroof switch placement
why on earth BMW decided to put the switch for the sunroof on the roof is a mystery to me.. has anyone relocated said switch to the centre console where the window switches are? id imagine its just a matter of extending wires and covring the hole in the panel where the switch was..

Cause that's where the switches belong. :rolleyes
Seems like too much trouble to extend wires and all that jazz. If you can do that, you surely can lift your arm to press the button above you.
I did this, relocating the sunroof switch down to the center console, replacing it in place of the child lock (4 door). It was a matter of extending the wires down. It's much more covinent.

Really? I thought most cars had the sunroof switch on the top.
It would be nice if it was one-touch both ways, but IMO the position is best where it is.
its the one touch thats annoying.. it only works for opening and not closing.

i have to hold the fairing down while the moonroof closes or it makes a popping sound.
