And how much are they? I think it'd be cool to own one but from what I hear, they're on limited production and probably sold out to waitlisted buyers...

Yeah, I think the list is WAY past being full and somebody awhile ago took some pics of a MINI on Rodeo Drive in Los. I dunno, they're really cool cars though, kinda small for me though.

don't know if they're "here" yet, but I saw my local dealer unloading one off a flatbed around 3-5 weeks ago...and yes, they said there was a "long" waitlist of buyers...
btw...MSRP in the high teens....

That's why the list is LONG! Apparently there's a guy who bought one in EVERY color?! WTF?! I mean, I like them an all, but geez!

Yeah I read about that......supposedly, you can only really fit one person in the back, but then again, I wouldn't even try and fit more than two people in the car,...
I bet you that susp. must be really stiff

The base model has already gotten excellent reviews for handling. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the best handling in its class. The problem is the powerplant and to get any decent power, you need to get the Cooper S. Estimated 0-60 from BMW is 0-60 in 7.3s. Since the mags tend to best the mfgr. numbers, I'd say high 6s is not out of the question. I'll let you guys know when I pick my Cooper S up next year (#5 on the wait list). ;)

I could think of other cars to get, but at that price, and with its handling characteristics, it's definitely appealing.

Yeah, the handling is gonna be tough to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't get a buncha awards for it.

The Cooper S is very nice
It pulls well, and corners VERY well. 6-speed, 17 inch rims, dual sunroof's, HUGE tachometer etc.
(my friend is a BMW tech...hehe...I also went for a ride in it about a month ago) Nice cars, especially for the price...plenty of leg/Head room...unlike the old mini....some BMW features which can be seen in the car...i have some pics etc..
