I bought a new 2008 335i, European delivery with factory installed ipod adapter. Have less than 1,000 miles on the car - and I love it!!! It was terrific in the Alps!!

My ipod has 6 Gigs used on a 30 Gig ipod. BMW says the 30 Gig is approved for this car. I hooked up my ipod using the 2-wire piece I bought from BMW for this car.

Problem is that when I plug in my ipod, it reads "loading audio device" forever. It never does load my music, audiobooks, etc.

Anyone else ever have this problem, or (hopefully) a solution?

Thanks!

Definitely sounds like an issue. Try another iPod if you have one handy, or borrow one, to eliminate the iPod as the issue. I had a situation for a few months where my iPod (which used to work fine) would do the same thing when I plugged it into my car but my wife's would connect just fine. A few iPod-resets later and it just miraculously started working again.

Also, when/if you go back to the dealer you should ask for a refund of the $$ you shelled out for the Y-Cable. That cable is supplied FREE in the USA along with the 6FL option. In Canada and Europe it is a separate cost, but not here. It is provided out of dealer stock, but the customer is not charged. For some reason not all dealers seem to understand this.
