Just bought my first BMW - a 94 325i. I was looking under the hood and noticed a rather large hose that is cut wide open. I can't tell what it is supposed to go to.
I looked through my Haynes Repair Manual, and I can see from the engine photos that the hose should be attached to something, but I don't even know what that "something" is called.
What I do know is that the previous owner and "his mechanic uncle" recently installed a new radiator.
I don't even know what to perform a search on, and I would rather ask fellow E36 owners first before I bring it into the shop.
I'm sure this is an easy one for most of you, and thanks for your help.
Damn. I can't post the photo, not even a link to the photo. Oh well.
Here's most of the link (missing the www) ... steamersgville.com/what.jpg

i know what your talking about but not the part..btw where your radiator cover thing? (big plastic piece above the radiator and prevents you from seeing the radiator)
and the part your talking about connects to the radiator cover thing. mine just pops off by hand. im sure its a airflow tube. it is the plastic circle in the pic your talking about right?

+1
I though it was the weirdest thing in the world when i first got my car. It's not extremely important or anything i drove without one for a couple months (including a trip from Atlanta to central Florida where my dad lives.) Then I got some work done to my car and they replaced it.
