I have a full tank of gas, but my fuel gauge is stuck at beyond empty. I was driving this morning and it said full, turned up my music a little bit and then it jumped to under half a tank. Turned off the car at home, just tried turning it back on and it doesn't move from empty.

The fuel gauge was also just replaced the day before I got the car last July. I swear, if more shit keeps breaking on this car Im getting rid of it.

did you do the cluster test?

think its, key off, hold in the odo trip button while you turn the key to on(past acc.)

keep it held in until you see the guages go thru a test cycle.

you should see speed/tach and all needles go all the way foward and back again

if you gas guage needle moves, it's not the problem

the fuel pump has an arm on it w/ a float to tell your car the level of the tank. pull up your back seat to access it...make sure you aren't smoking first :)
check and see if the float fell off of the level and check the output of the level w/ a multimeter... hope it helps :)

check all the fuses first

I +1 this. There is also just the sending unit in the compartment next to the fuel pump with the same measuring floater.

Update: I did a few of the cluster resets and then it started to work again. But it displayed the wrong amount of fuel. So I disconnected my Battery and it went back to the amount i have in the car. Yesss, it's working!

... Untill I pulled out of the parking lot and somehow burned through over half a tank of gas  Now whenever I drive the needle keeps fluctuating. Grrrr.

I did that, they seem perfectly fine. But I don't really know what fine is.

But, the problem fixed itself (again) after like 10 cluster test's and disconecting the battery.
