please help, i was installing an armrest then accidently took the clip of the brake with the sensor, theres a wire and a plastic piece with a copper clip, i attach the wire to the plastic with the copper clip, but the light still stays on the dash when i drop the hand brake. im not sure how the whole sensor clip thing works, please help me.

The sensor works though a ground function.
I believe the way it works is when the hand break it down the connetion is open so the circut is broken and the light doesnt come on. but once you pull on it slights it connects to the brown wire on the clip and complete the circuit and the light comes on.
That or its the other way around not sure >.<
but there now you know at least one of the two ways it should go

I had the exact same problem. I added an armrest to my center console and when I was done, I couldn't get the damn dash light to go off. I ended up just unplugging that one wire from the clip. The light goes off, but it wont come on even if you pull your hand brake up. For me that was a better alternative.
