This is a new video comparing a Dinan modified 335i vs. a stock M3 around the Willowsprings race track. Seeing how evenly matched up these cars are, it makes me wonder if BMW is worried now that the 335i might cannibalize M3 sales. What do you guys think?

Just a disclaimer: I do work for webridestv but I have a 335i so I thought I'd post it here to share the love and hopefully get some feedback on the site and video. We are uploading a new video right now that should have more numbers (they left out the quartermile times on the first one)...

I wish they would have done a head to head drag, or even a 0-60 time run, because that 335 had BOATLOADS more torque, and I'd be surprised if it didn't really thrash the m3 in a straight.
Cool video though

yeah but you can't count out the gearing advantage of the M3. The 335's final drive is 3.08 while the M3's is 3.85 so even with a boatload more torque the M3 can still put as much torque to the ground as the 335... it seems a lot of people forget this.

Deeeeee
deeee-nan sounds more European, I assume most ppl think its a European Company. I Admit I didn't realize steve Dinan was American until I saw him in an interview.

Both cars are soo hot, side by side, there's unfortunately not a lot that makes the M3 stand out style-wise from the 335i... I mean I know there is, but it's all really subtle.

Dine-in
Din-in
De-nin (although you're pretty damn retarded if you thinks that's it)
Nice vid, Americans just don't get how to do cinematography and commentary though; Top Gear >

BTW the 335 would faired better with gearing (mentioned already) but more importantly LSD. Open diffs are not favorable on the track or in a drag.

I'd still get the M3. Just looks far better, will value better, and more hardcore than a 3 series will ever be.

If the difference between the E92 335i and M3 is subtle, how would you describe the difference between an E36 328 and M3?
