WOW.. The car pulls harder from about 2k all the way to red. The install took me aprox 4 hours using a standard pulley puller and it was well worth it.

Sounds good... did you dyno the car before/after the pulley?

Which pulley did you get?
There was a guy here the other day that is a pulley expert. He can take off the stock pulley and install a new pulley in 58 minutes.
It's a huge improvement... considering the first one took something like 8 hours.

Can I have your stock pulley snapper? I figure if I tape it somewhere in the engine compartment my engine might get a few hp more you know... just from the peer pressure. :dunno

Mini Mania 3pc pulley. http://new.minimania.com/NewMiniSearch.cfm?PartNumber=NME5011&ShowMiniDetail=Yes&ShowIcons=No
After my 4 hr install I believe with the right puller I could complete the job in aprox 1.5 hours.

Just remember: every time Aren smokes you off the line, you dominate him into the turn. I'd rather have a car that handles well than a fast one.
But, a fast one that handles works the best. Nice pulley upgrade. I'm surprised at the price, I didn't think they were that cheap, then again, I bet the money is in the install. 4 hours isn't exactly a slap on procedure.

Snappermini,
did you get software for that pulley? If not we have custom written software specifically for pulley upgrades. With our pulley and software we are getting 42-44HP at the wheels. Let me know if you want us to flash your ECU for you. It is important to maintain propper Air Fuel Ratios. We have seen that some pulleys can cause a lean condition at higher RPM's

42 - 44 hp at the wheels?
Would you have dyno sheets to back up these claims.
I've been reading where the pulley upgrade will get you anywhere from 15~20 hp to the wheels.
Ecu upgrades were getting 10 ~ 12 hp.
This would put an MCS at about 190 ~ 200 hp to the wheels. Not too shabby for this car.
Interesting...

Jeff, I do plan to upgrade the ecu soon and will contact you for the information. Thanks

Just remember to avoid running into things when you get a car that handles well. :bawl :bawl

hey minisnapper, i am doing this job right now! my question is how did you get the engine up high enough to have room to get the pulley off? did you take off the black motor mount bracket and jack the engine up on the oil pan? and tips would be great.
thanks

Sorry about late response, I was out of town this weekend. Yes, I removed the stabilizer, upper and lower passenger side motor mounts. Please see link below for pix.

$200 for a fukn pulley? what a rip deal! You could take your stock pulley into any good machine shop and have a smaller one made out of bullit alum for about $50-$75! If they could shave down the stock one, it would only be about $20
I'm in the wrong buisness :dunno

stock pulley was bent on removal (cars to very new, finding someone who's done something like this before is probably pretty difficult).

The 1st guys to put smaller pulleys on did just that but they also spent 10 hours R&R time to press on & off the pulley with out damaging the compressor. If you were lucky enough to live in S.F. with labor rates of $165 per hour you would say $200 money well spent.
