So yesterday this guy says to me, "damn, I can't believe you have nineteens on that - that's bat shit crazy!"

I'm assuming he was talking about my wheels? Is bat shit crazy a good thing? Or was it more, "you're dumb for having those"? I was pretty sure these were the wheels that came on the car, so I am confused..

(girl, btw, so sorry, I know nothing about cars - but I'm trying!)

I "think" it means good.....but I am a 33 year old white guy living in the North of Canada so what the hell would I know!

Haha.... I believe that's supposed to be a good thing, though I really see nothing crazy about having 19"s on a 7 series. I'm sure some 22"s could essentially be stuffed in there. Perhaps the guy was just trying to compliment you regardless?

i think he was sarcastically ridiculing you

That's pretty much what my husband said, except he's 29 and we're in Northern California.

We're perplexed.. I had never heard that expression before.. the scary thing is.. he was the guy who brought my car around after the wash at the dealership.. He kind of freaked me out, so I just jumped into my car and left, but now I wish I would have asked wtf?

why would you care what someone says about your car if they are so stupid you can't understand them.

He actually works at the subaru or whatever it is next door, they share a car wash.. he was.. uhm.. *tries to put it nicely*... hopefully not the type of person that BMW would hire.

And some a-hole prankster thought it would be hilarious to turn on the speed limiter indicator to 4 mph! I have had this car for like 3 days, that took a while to turn off, all the dinging was driving me crazy!

Nah, bat-shit crazy is a compliment. Like excessively amazing in a good way. You never heard it?

Never.. and these look like regular wheels to me, which is why I was puzzled..

And thanks a lot everyone for laughing at my misery with the 4mph alarm! My favorite part about going to the automall is driving around the loop fast on my way out, it was ruined because I was trying to figure out the freaking computer screen.

Im guessing its a compliment. 19s look good on the 745, if he deals with the cars often i dont understand why he would say that but oh well. I wash cars at a dealership and i drive 745s all the time, the only cars i compliment the owners on when i bring them their cars are B7 owners and the E39 M5 owners
We try not to mess with the computers in peoples cars but sometimes it can be fun lol

e65/66 come with 19's stock i believe... (e66 b7 comes with 21's stock :))

No, they're part of the sports package or wheel package or something. They're definitely not stock, but all dealers order 'em like that because people like them.

Did you go back and do the loop yet? You need closure.

THAT'S why I'm pretty sure it was an insult. They don't look like special wheels to me.

I actually did last night, once the automall was closed.. I love that loop.

I always thought you BMW guys were crazy, everyone I've ever known has been so nuts about their BMW.. now I get it. I have a whale of a car and it is still soooo fun, next time I'm getting a smaller one. I can't believe the handling and acceleration!

Yes, I agree with you. But Sport Packages aren't stock, my friend. You pay extra for them. That makes it not stock. It comes from the factory, but it's not stock.
