Took the car in today for the 1 year oil change interval (it had its 1st birthday yest.:happybday). The CBS was saying there was around 2500 km till the oil change is due. Well they checked it out and said the CBS indicates the oil change is due (I guess the 2.5k clicks was rounded down to 0!) and that it also indicated the microfilter needed to be replaced. Got both items covered for free and the CBS got reset. Now my wiper blades also needed replacement after a harsh winter, but those are not covered under the maintenance plan in Canada (nor are brakes btw), so my cost was 63.41 (right 25, left 33, and 5.4 for cover, whatever that was). That's all before taxes.
With the alignment I needed to do after hitting a pothole and the 30$ I paid for them to find a piece of change that was causing the seat to squeak, my out of pocket for the 1st year of owning the car is around 250$. Hopefully this year would be lower, but the year after I will need to do the brakes which is a 370-400$ job for all 4 pads or 800 if rotors need replacing too. You guys in the US get a better deal for sure, so stop complaining about the maintenance plan :D, I am not complaining even with this.

Ouch. I had my front brake pads replaced last time I took the car in for maintenance about a month ago. I'm probably going to need to take the bimmer back to the dealer to have them reset my low tire pressure light that keeps flashing. Btw would you know if there is anyway to reset that myself? I'm also going to need my front fenders rolled :rolleyes. The tires rub a little when I'm traveling above 40 mph and hit any small sized dip/bump :devillook

+ Happy Anniversary!

Thanks and check the FAQ sticky for instructions on how to reset the tire pressure indicator.

I downloaded an instruction manual, since my car never came with one, and I did as it instructed me to but the indicator was never reset. It still continues to flash. It's not a biggy since I know the tire pressure is at the correct pressure but it is pretty annoying. I'm going to ask a BMW Tech about it. One of my sensors may have been damaged when Wheelworks installed my new shoes. I hate all these sensors. I am now truely hesitant about getting my exhaust done :ponder
