This is exactly what it says on the UUC website for the 8.5lb flywheel.
-- Fits all 1995-99 E36 6-cylinder 3-series, requires M5 clutch and throwout bearing. Professional installation recommended.
And for the Classic 11 lb. flywheel
-- Fits all 1995-99 E36 6-cylinder 3-series, requires M3 clutch and throwout bearing. 323 and 325 should have M3 slave cylinder installed. Professional installation recommended.

That should be corrected - both versions fit all 1992-1999 E36. Sorry for the confusion!
CrayzeeM3: As a suggestion, have you checked with BMA Auto Parts (888-BMA-3911) for the e34 M5 clutch kit? Their prices are pretty rock-bottom, so maybe if we can get a GB deal, they can get it lower?

I can't see where having a lightweight flywheel and a clutch that is stronger than the stock M3 clutch could possibly have any effect on a SuperCharger install.
So the answer is no... none whatsoever.

If you dont know about a lightweight flywheel your missing out! :D Your RPMs rev much more freely, you gain torque and horsepower. Installation is up to your mechanic.

Wesley is an unreliable guy IMHO. I ordered a UUC SSK and a UUC knob from him and when it finally arrived the knob was all scratched up and had a 6 speed label instead of a 5 and after I called twice no responce.... that was a week and a half ago. With UPMotorsports you save $ at a huge loss of customer service and at twice the wait. Be prepared! I guarantee that within two weeks there will be a ton of posts asking where the flywheel is and there will be more and more frustration.

To our valued customers,
I am on vacation at the moment, but due to the overwhelming concern I am taking some time out from my family to update everyone. Rob at UUC was emailed everyone's information today, and will start shipping tomorrow. The people that requested URGENT shipping have been taken care of. Everyone will be sent tracking numbers as we recieve them. The delay is due to us checking, rechecking, and rechecking to make sure we haven't forgotten anyone while trying to entertain the family at Busch Gardens and other places:). If you need immediate assistance, please call my partner Max Ogburn at (336) 345-0996, or Eric Poovey(Sales Rep) at (336) 926-4265. If you call me you will not receive a call until Monday June 23rd. I am checking my email occasionally, but no promises as to when I will respond. I hope that everyone is happy, and we are trying to reduce the wait as long as possible.
Thanks again,

Quick question, does everyone's flywheel look brand new? My flywheel looks like it was previously used, it is somewhat dirty and has scratches on the steel plate.....

mine is a little dirty but the scratches are not in a circular motion, as if the thing was being rotated. i am thinking the scratches are from handling, or the bolts and hardware placed into the box with the fly.
got mine today, was out of town. just waiting for the clutch now i guess.

The difference between a used flywheel and new flywheel is dramatic.
If the friction surface (the gray steel plate) is shiny, it's used. If it's dull gray, it's new. Slight scratches are not uncommon but are of no consequence.

Got mine. Of course, I opted for the UK pressure plate. Clutch disc is the same M5 Sachs unit pictured earlier in the thread.
The only difference I could tell is that the stack height is different between stock and the UUC/UK/M5 setup. My clutch releases towards the top of pedal travel vs. those who have installed the non-UK pressure plate whose clutch releases at the bottom of the pedal travel.
1000 miles and all is well. slight vibration at low RPMs. Other than that it is relatively quiet (some noise at idle, clutch out, AC on).
Corner exit speed is noticably better on the auto-x circuit.
John.
PS- Rob, do you offer sponsorships? I'm going to the SCCA SoloII Nationals in BSP (I see two drivers with UUC as sponsors). Half of the crap (uh, stuff) on my car is UUC. The rest is ground control (there could be more UUC stuff if it would ever come in;) ).

Hmmm... I am not really thrilled with that change in stack height. With the correct US-spec components, stack height is the same as OE. Was there a Sachs part number on the pressure plate that you could send to me?

We do offer race sponsorships. Put together a package of car and event info, pics, and contact info, and e-mail it to sponsor@shortshifter.com

I'll check the box tonight when I get home and see if there is a part no. on it. It's a little too late to check the actual pressure plate for a number... and even though I like you... I'm not pullin that damn tranny out again :nono

Rob,
I got nothing. The box was a generic shipping box. No part numbers enclosed.
Maybe one of the other UK PP guys can check if they haven't installed yet?

Interesting. If it was thinner, you may have received the PP from the 3.8;l version of the car. It would be thinner.
As long as you are not having any obvious grinding noises and the clutch is engaging well, then it should be okay... but the correct PP would give you a lower engagement point, back where it should be.

What's the most reliable way to contact Wesley? No answer from email or voicemails I've sent in the last week or two. I'm about to try to cancel the order if I can, this is horrible customer service!

Ok, my credit card was charged on 6/02 and I can't get a hold of Wesley about my flywheel. I'm about to contact my credit card company to reverse the charges.

That is NOT COOL! Why are there still people without a clutch? If this does not get cleared up, we should boycott the company these were ordered from.
