BMW technicians

I've been attending school at a local communtity college but can't find a field of work that I'm interested in. At the top of my list of jobs that would make me happy would be working on bimmers. I've searched the web for some of the basic information on where to get started but havn't been able to find the process of becoming a technician. So I guess I'll see what you guys know about this field of work.

The basic stuff I want to know is the average annual salary, and what is the process of becoming one of these. I see the numbers on the web but I'm hoping maybe they're a few on here that can give me a range of what to expect.
