Oil change question

I am new to the forum.

I have a 2007 325ix with 8,000 miles on it. I checked the dipstick, and notice the oil is down one notch, should I add? If so, what kind of oil?
When is it time to bring the car in for service for its first oil change?

Call your dealer and see if they will let you schedule to bring it in to be topped off. If not, just go up there. If you search, you will find this is normal.

Your oil service is due either at the end of 12 months or when the service light comes on.....

What dipstick! Being new doesn`t mean you can post BS. If you are sincere about your inquiries and made an honest mistake, a simple search will yield all answers you seek. Be forewarned, any more garbage posts and the account will be suspended.
