So i attended a driver's edge course today. They show'd me what can happen if i am distracted, others in the car, and told me what to do in a blow out, under steer, and oversteer. Then they took us out on the course. They had two course's, one was a skidpad course, and the other was an evasive lane change, and panic braking course. On the Skid pad course, we were driving volkswagon GTI's. Those things are sweet. Anyways, they would send you into a corner and hit the parking brake and have to corect the skid. The ground was wet the whole time, and it took me two times before i figured out how to drive this damn volkswagon. You could turn the wheel 4 times before it locked, witch sucked because it wasn't as quick as my car is. Then onto the Evasive lane change, and panic braking. We had brand new BMW 328i's. Those things are sweet. They have alot more power then i thought they would to. But anyways, they get you up to about 40, and they have a cone setup where you have to swerve through, this one i was flawless on. Thank you bimmer. Then for the panic braking, that was weird. The ABS on the new Bimmers are really fast, think machine gun. Then they run the course again, only faster, around 50. The instructor said i did better. This time for the braking we got up to 50, then ABS'd through a corner, to show you the benifits of ABS. Anyways, at the end they gave us T-shirts, hats, a saftey bag that comes with a triangle, gloves, space blanket, jumper cabels, tire pressure guage, flash light, glow sticks, and a gas siphon :D. All of this was free. I really enjyed this course, and at the end they gave me a certificate, and it will save me money on car insurance. They also had cameras in each car, and they gave us an SD card with the action on it. Too bad mine only had the sound tho.

they wouldn't kick you out. You have to be a teen, or new driver to attend.

correcting a skid in the e34 will be a weeeeeeeee bit diferent than a fwd vw. That being said if it was free it's always good to go out and learn car control with someone else's car... cheaper insurance is a nice bonus as well.

Yea, i thought it was rather difficult in the VW. Ive been in skids plenty in rear wheel drive cars, and it's much easier to correct it, esspecialy in the e34, much quicker steering.
