    Welcome to BimmerForums.
I was going to drive to Cali for the 'Fest but my car wasn't ready in time
I'm driving to Texas in October for the Octoberfest instead
Anyway, welcome and post some pics of your car.

    Cheers

Bimmerfest was just "ok" this year. The only thing good was the food, that black 330ii and the Hamann silver e46 M3 with the black roof and trunk. I met CJ, Sean and a few other guys. Left early. Oh yeah, got there at 9 with the caravan and had to park about a mile away which totally sucked. I also saw some ugly ass e36's with moldings missing, unpainted rockers that got to park in the dealers lot. Whats up with that?

I agree, Bimmerfest wasn't as good as it was last year.

Same thing...we left for the early caravan, but we didn't even get parking. Originally the E30's were supposed to get parking in the lot as well.

But we had to park about 4 - 5 blocks away. Oh well...

The cruise was nothing spectacular either...To many cars, to much traffic and those stupid bikers!!!

I'm just being a whiny bitch, I'll stop now.

The bikers were okay. They tried to let us pass them but there was a camry ahead of the bikers was blocking. it wasnt fun anymore after we got slowed down :\
I didnt know u guys parked 4-5 blocks away... thats why when we started the rally, about 500 bmws showed up. today was my first time going to bimmerfest and I feel very lucky I got to park in the parking lot.

I was near in the lead, behind the Z3 convertible, the white E30, then me. The bikers were not letting us pass, and we got stuck behind traffic some more.

But whatever, the road doesn't belong to just us.. I wish it did..

Funny you say that, on the caravan up, we were flying up the 101.

Behind an E30 M3, an Eclipse, and a few other E30's. About half way up, Doug (driver of the lead E30 M3) radio's to us that he got full K band on his V1, so we nail the binders slowing down to the speed limit of 65. We continue for a few miles while we wait for the radar to chill out.

About 15 minutes later, I get a phone call from my friend who's already at bimmerfest, saying that he can hear the highway patrol over his scanner and they are looking for our caravan.

We proceed with caution, and the M3 radio's that he just got full K-band again, and we're coming around a blind corner. We nail the brakes again and slow down to 65, this time, there was a highway patrol car sitting on bank of the corner just waiting to nail someone.

Funny to see his face when 50+ BMW's drive by doing the speed limit

Well that was my first bimmerfest.... and there is something to be said about seeing several hundred BMW's in one spot cruising down highway 154 in a straight line. It blew me away...

In my opinion it was a great show. I enjoyed getting to know a lot of people and talking BMW's for nearly 24 hours straight. There were some great cars and lots of aspiring cars as well. It was overall a great show. I have nothing to complain about. I don't mind a little BMW traffic from time to time
Also traveling 2 minutes to get to the show was quite convenient, haha

I think at this point, for some of the So. Cal guys that are considered "regulars", we go more for socializing than gawking at RMS supercharged M5s and slammed E46 M3's.

At first it was exciting, but now its sorta blah. We respect the people that pour time and effort int their beautiful cars and such, but not really phased by the mods anymore...

It's all good, we hanged out with each other, I think that's what matters most.

If you go to enough shows you begin to see cars over and over again. In my opinion that shouldn't demean the cars in any way, just for the fact that you have seen the cars before. I saw some looks on the faces of people that had never seen a hamann widebody E46 before, and it was priceless, hehe.
But like you said, the best part of bimmerfest is hanging out with your buddies that you don't get to see that often.
