    Philips HID kits for cheaper......

Ok there is an online store based in toronto that sells Philips HID kits in US Dollars for:

    $525 for stage I (4300k)

    $599 for stage II (6000k)

And no customs charges either...... the site has nice pics and I bet a group buy would drive the price down further. the webste is www.xenondepot.com so check it out and tell me what you guys think ok?

well there are pics on the website (even of BMW's), but I dont know of anyone that has ordered from here yet. The prices look great and I have been talking to them via e-mail asking questions and he has assured me that the kits are all philips components with a 1 year warranty.....so I see no prob here with them but Im going to arrange next week to see them personally cause I live in toronto.....Im thinking group buy for lower prices.

I placed an order with them last week. I paid $550 for the 6000k kit though-- the price must have just gone down. I'll post again when I received something.

From what I saw, was that the price for the 6000k kit was for $479 all together with the 20% discount. Did you pay lots of shipping charges or something? WHen are you gonna get it, can you put up pics??

I contacted Steve at XenonDepot and he assured me that the price I paid ($550) is the current price for 6000k kit for US buyers. This price does include shipping. I have not received the kit yet, but when I do I will post pictures. BTW, the communications I have gotten from Steve at XenonDepot have been both timely and very professional. I will post a full review when I receive/install the kit.

Yeah u see, I talked to him via e-mail today and he told me that its now $600/kit and $550 for a group buy??????? What is that garbage, On their website it says for the 6000k kit its $599 with 20% off Introductory discount or something?? So Im gonna talk to him now since I live in Toronto canada and its close to my house. Its probably more expensive for US customers cause they probably hide the shipping in the price, u think they would actually pay for u'r shipping?? Yeah right!

Ok everyone I made a mistake, the prices already have the 20% discount in them, but for $599 its still a good price. For a group purchase its $550 which is the cheapest that I have seen yet for a philips kit unless someone else knows another place..............

    Hi all,

I hunted around for a while and it was the cheapest that I could find as well. I'll be posting pics as soon as I get the kit in the mail and get it installed.

Ok I e-mailed the guy about a GB and he said with one the price would be driven down to $550 which is a great price maybe we can even get it down further since mmaigret got the kit for $550 without a group buy I think......anyway I have not seen any other place believe me for cheaper than $550 for a 6000k Philips Ultinon kit.

see thats what I thought too since mmaigret said above that he/she got it for that much, but on the website it is listed for $599 for the stage II 6000k kit, I made a mistake earlier and thought it was 20% off that but the discount is already in the price.....anyway, Im not too sure how mmaigret got it for only $550 but Im sure that we could get a good price with a group buy.....Im not too sure how to organize a group buy but if anyone here can do it that would be great.

Sorry for the confusion guys. I did get mine through a group buy. It was in the Group Purchase forum about a month or so ago.

Baller, I ordered the 6000k/H1 kit (I have ZKW freeforms).

would that same H1 kit fit in ellipsoids? I thought free-forms took H7's?

Yes, if you have ellipsoids, the H1 kit is what you want. The GB I was in had a bunch of people from a VW forum and a couple from here. I don't know how many total, but I think you generally need at least 5 people to get any decent discount on price.

BTW, I got an e-mail from Steve at XenonDepot and he said I should have my kit middle of next week. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Ok lets set up a group buy here. I have never done one before but I hope someone else here has done one before. I can talk to the guy personally cause I live in Toronto and the place isnt too far from my house. But If anyone knows how to organize a GB then please tell us how or please organize this one. Thanks!

HID 6000k/H1 kit installed yesterday from XenonDepot.

Installation was very easy and straightforward into my ZKW ellipsoids.

The lights look amazing! I wasn't prepared for how good the results were. I was driving around looking for dark roads just to experience the bright blue-white lighting.

One word about the kit- awesome.

Steve at XenonDepot was very professional and everything worked out perfect with the group buy that I was in on-- from VWVortex.

Anyway, strongly recommended-- I will post pics of the results to this thread in a few days.

That was the $600 H1 kit, correct? $600 is already pretty good without a group buy...

Considering I know a guy that just dropped $1100 for Elips and Phillips 6000s $600 aint all that bad...
