WHile I was runing or doing some race with my friend's VW golf 1.8T light tuned(20.6 PSI) I decided to turn up the boost from 5-6 PSI to 8-9 PSI, but when I hit these numbers 8-9 PSI start the pinging or knock, so this time I didn't want loose, and I won!
WHen I arrived at the stop light, I noticed it was smoking like vapor train....soonely started to fail my engine like if it were a missfire or unpluged the spark cable... it was smoking a white densed smoke smelling a lot of oil, not color blue, just white.
So I drove carefully to my home then to my shopp, I did a light checked with my mechanic and we think it can be some things,
-Blew the Head gasket , and the water and most probably the oil is incoming in the cylinders
-I did a hole in any Piston( but the engine it quite, is not reproducing any kind of noise )
-Or the aluminum head is dead!
other thing that I noticed was the water coming out or making some bubbles from the exhaust compressor ...
We will see what I will find there
PD: Yes I know I have to put a bigger injectors, this time I will do that!

Thanks for that, I have already the biggest OEM BMW head gasket. not sure how thick it's.....2.05mm I think it is... I will shave my pistons maybe who knows![]()
Also if I would go with your gasket it would be a bit difficult, since I live out side of US![]()

I guess you blew either the head gasket or in worst case the block or one of the pistons may be damaged.
Do you hear any piston skirt noise?
If you have checked the engine coolant after racing and water spilled out of the reservoir, h gasket is the point to check.
you definately blew the head gasket. you will need to make sure you havn't broken a ring or the ring lands too though.
were you lean at all? 8-9 psi isn't that much on the stock motor. I didn't have any timing issues at that point, and would only ping if I didn't have enough fuel.
(blown a few head gaskets in the past.)

Well I didn't watch the A/R meter, but the other times I checked it when I was in 8-9PSI and it was showing me rich like when I run in 6 PSI...but at 8-9 PSI still shows rich but start to pinging, I'm using 97 octane gas, wich is not exactly 97, it should be less, here are layers!Originally posted by techno550

nope, I didn't hear any metal noise or that kind, we checked the water reservoir and was spilling or whatever is called a bit... again, when it happened to me, it was smoking a white and ensed smoke, smelling a lot, alot of oil, it happened near my home, my oil level it's ok, and the water too, since I didn't drive it much time....Originally posted by mertdastan

If you are running 8-9 psi and 97 octane I guess its because of too much timing under boost.
Hopefully it's just head gasket.
As you said you are rich like at 6 psi.
Are you running a intercooler if not then that could be your reason. You better invest in a intercooler or water injection.

Timing was just too advanced then. (or heatsoaked IC causing problems)

Thanks nore for the email and the pic.
Just runing my stock ECu and soonely will be switched with the SMT6
Where can I look for Bell FMU, how much cost it?
Anyway, I know that sells reapir kits for the Voretch FMu in some models, I mean 8:1, 10:1, 12:1, etc, what ratio should I look to run safaly or not over fuel press with 15 PSI in the near future?![]()

You do not use SMT6 yet ????????
Killander the man with E30 S38 turbo 800+++hp is making now more powerful M5 turbo engine with SMT6 - in other forum people with 600+ hp turbo BMW says that SMT is cool - they do know how to turbocharge![]()
