BayBimmerz caravan to American Le Mans at Infineon!

American Le Mans Series at Infineon!

The exotic sports cars of the American Le Mans Series return for a fifth year to grace the twisting 12-turn circuit at Infineon Raceway at the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma, July 25-27. This weekend of sports car action features high-powered machines reaching speeds at more than 150 mph. Audi, Panoz, Saleen, Ferrari, Corvette and Porsche will be among those jockeying for position on the circuit.

Defending champions include Panoz (LMP 900), Corvette (GTS) and Porsche (GT). The weekend will also see the return of the SPEED World Challenge Series, which includes the popular BMW M3, among other sports cars.

Hospitality Corral

The Sacramento BMW-CCA chapter is sponsoring a free hospitality corral open to any and all Bimmers. It is located at turn 2, and BayBimmerz wants to enjoy their hospitality. Live TV feed, shade, tables and chairs, and food vendors nearby. That means we’ve got to get there early! So on Sunday, July 27th…

I'm definitely going to the race with a friend, he may not be able to leave so early so I may or may not be able to join the caravan.

Channel 4-12 is channel 4 with "privacy code" set to 12?

Speaking of radios, anyone know the frequencies to listen in on Team PTG?

Yes. I saw some mention of discounted alternatives on the Sac CCA web site, but with the event coming this Sunday time is becoming a critical factor.

You can call that number - it's for Infineon - at pick up your ticket(s) at will-call there, that's what I am doing. (The BMW CCA discount I received was almost nothing it seemed, but at least there were no Ticketmaster charges added.)

Question about the caravan:
1, The first race starts at 8:50a.m., we need to leave bay area earlier in order to be there before the race; not to mention the time we need to visit the vendors and the bimmers! I suggest 6:00a.m.
2, Any caravan for S.F.? Maybe S.F. people can gather at Stonestown parking lot (19th Ave. / Hwy 1) and join the drive.
I am so excited!!!!!!

The Marin Brewing Company is less than 20 miles from the track, and I am rolling out of that parking lot at 8am sharp (maybe even 7:55). I expect to be there for most if not all of the first race. The ALMS race begins at Noon, so there are 2.5 hours between the morning race and the main event to wander around and check stuff out.

Cliff is correct. The last time we were on the track and getting out of our cars in under 20min....

I tweaked it pretty bad at work and it's still up in the air if I'm going or not.
I didn't get my ticket yet because I didn't want to get stuck with it.
I want to go, but I need to wait and see if I can handle sitting for that long, I need to move around before it has a chance to stiffen up.
I'm counting on the therapy sessions to help and I'm "hoping" to order my ticket Friday night and set it up for will call (if I go)

There's no need to be sitting the whole time. I plan on walking the track some to find good spots to play with my camera. C'mon Keith, your friends want you to come along with us, for cryin' out loud!

Geez, I want to go, it's the drive that will kill me.
Just driving to therapy in San Ramon yesterday was not fun.
I realize that when I'm out the car I can sit, walk, run, laydown, crap, whatever I want, BUT IT'S THE DRIVE!
AND, no need for cryin' out loud!

Keith : (damn back)
