Sorry, should have put this on my previous post.
Both the driver and passenger seats shift back and forth on the track about 1/4 - 3/8". Is this a known problem? Recommended fix?
Thanks again - Eric

Yes, it is a common problem.
Go on youtube.com and search for "z3 seat".
I've been made aware of brass versions of the bushings that are a permenant fix. Don't know where to find them though. Will talk to my guy and see if he can direct me.
Thanks for the info and product link.
Still waiting for my repair manual to arrive. How difficlut is it to replace the bushings?

Great! Thanks for the photos.
Just finished ordering the new bushings. Looks like a pretty straightforward repair.

Z3 problem or do M's have the problem as well?

At first glance, I thought you were really short!
I'm pretty sure I need bushings too, but I may also have another problem. My seats (coupe sport seats off ebay are "cocked" with the rear towards the outside of the car. Is something misaligned, or is it just those bushings and it'll tighten everything up after installation of those.

Links to more instructions. And don't put the bushings in too tight. They should slip into the carriers with about the same effort as closing a box of matches.
