I have the circuit that works for the Coupe. Do not use the E36 circuit that is on Apexcone. I did use that for the diagram (thanks Jim). Notice they are wired in parallel versus the E36 circuit is wired in series.
Required, 2 100K ohm resisters, 1 IN4001 Diode, and a board.

For those of you going to do this. If it doesn't work reverse the wires. I had the airbag light on and once I wired it correctly it went out. IT DID NOT REQUIRE THE PEAKE SRS TOOL.

Someone was going to find connectors. Anyone have any news on that?
What problem does this solve?

If you put aftermarket seats in there is a seat occupancy sensor in the passenger seat that needs to be swapped as well. This circuit plugs in where the occupancy sensor would of gone. If you don't have the occupancy sensor connected you get the Airbag Light.Originally Posted by Esteves
I was to cheap to buy another seat occupancy sensor, so this cheats the system.

I offered to build these some time ago if someone could source the plugs, but never heard anything about it.![]()
Just curious... I have the stock seats in my car. I took them out while doing a stereo install and after putting everything back together the airbag light came on. There are like 5 different plugs under the passenger seat, which one goes to the airbag occupany sensor? Also, is there something similar for the drivers side (I wouldn't think so being that the manufacture should assume you always have someone in the driver seat while driving, but you never know about these things)?

The wires for the seat sensor go into another block that is under the seat. From there it goes into the main wiring harness. You might want to check the wires that go from the pretentioners to the wiring harness. You may have to pick up the Peake SRS tool to do some troubleshooting.Originally Posted by LS6777

Damn, I was afraid I would have to do that? How much is the SRS tool?Originally Posted by thebionicman

These guys are a supporting vendor. $120 is about as cheap as you will find it. You could also post under regional and see if someone has one you could borrow.

Can someone please show the front and backside of your prints boards please. Im going to make this, but im confused about how the resistors are connected.
Thanks
Bump!, please help me with pictures of print, front and backside. Then i feel confident in making one myself :-)
Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Thinking about getting rid of the Coupe.
Hope this helps:

How was it determined that 200k ohm is the value? Bmellot discovered that a 180lbs person was about 10k ohms.

I don't know how the person who initially drew up the diagram came to that value, but it does work. I am going to guess that the value is irrelevant beyond a certain value.
I did 10k ohm tonight and it didn't work...well my light didn't go off. It went off for .5s then came back on.
I guess I'll try 200k ohms tomorrow. I just wanted to be sure that the airbag will fire and not be bypassed.
Anyone had an airbag go off with your mod Vinci?

The SRS light will always go off briefly when turning the key. When cleared, it usually takes around 10 seconds for the light to come back if there is a fault with the occupancy sensor.
There are only a handful of people that have a simulator that I built, but I haven't heard of any getting into wrecks.
So it's like an anti-accident modification? Pretty cool....
I'm going to try the other resistors then try to reset airbag light.

Bought a box out of ebay that did the job - called a P.A.S.B unit
Now i only need reset tool :-)
By the way; Is there no way to reset the SRS without the service tool?
Can someone build this for me for my car? I'll pay...

Folks who are happily plugging resistors in and hoping the light goes out - it will NOT go out until the system is reset with a GT1, or some other reset tool (AutoEnginuity BMW module, Peake SRS tool..)
Just a FWIW - sounded as if some people expected the light to go off if they just found the right value resistor. It won't.
