Hey guys, as I'm supposed to be trying to increase the posting on this board, I think a great way to start is to get to know each other a little better. As we are each E36/7 or E36/8 owners/drivers, a good place to begin the dialogue is to see who has a car similar to yours. Since only a few of the Z3 owners are very active, I (for one) am a little unfamiliar with each of your cars. Having them in one place will help us find someone to answer our questions and whatnot as well as make fun of the 4-cylinder guys (no, not really).
So, without futher ado...
THE UNOFFICIAL BIMMERFORUMS Z3 REGISTRY

My 96 Z3 roadster ,,is helrot red, black top, tan leather and, of course is an underpowered 4cyl..,manual trans, computer, wind deflector, great luggage rack for the trunk lid, and some interior add ons..It may not be fast off the line but its looks like any Z3 bring lots of stares and comments..has a real attitude look. With only 14,000 miles I guess it is a garage (actually I call it my
car room) queen. Would like to post a picture but when I try I continue to get a message that I do not understand,,could be I need to compress the file and then unzip it??? Just not sure.
It goes without saying that I really enjoy driving the car, and was surprised this past summer when I drove from Erie,Pa. to Spartenbutg to the BMW factory just how comfortable the car was.

so far.. i'm running on a pioneer head with focal speakers, macintosh amp, and pheonix gold wiring... and the ugly part to this whole system is the subwoofer.. i've got a bass tube.. hehehe.. damn car too small to fit damn subs in the trunk unless i do some cutting on the metal.. so at the moment.. i'm not gonna upgrade on the sub as of yet.. but maybe later in the future..
Exterior add-on:
just 1 thing so far.. everything seems to be so damn expensive.. i've installed the KW Coil Overs.. and it was extremely costly..
Future Add-Ons:
planning to purchase either 18" or 19" rims.. might get the Hamann PG2.. or the AC Type 3.. not sure yet.. also.. i need to change my damn seats.. hehe.. planning on getting the Recaro-Pole Position ones.. but not sure if it actually fits in a z3.. can't seem to find any info on that.. as we all know.. there aren't a lot of z3 enthusiasts..
please do reply if you have any comments or suggestions.. cause i'm always open to hear them.. anyways.. hope you enjoy the pic of my car.. it's plain.. but hey.. it's just the start.. hehehe..

OK, so I have a '96 1.9, Boston Green Z3. I haven't done much in the way of performance mods except Fogging the intake.
I have done some work on the Stereo (added two amps, replaced the mid-woofers in the front and added a 10" Infinity Perfect in the space under where the top is stored. It sounds pretty good (I can hear it going 70 with the top down).
Am considering either adding a Downing Atlanta SC or if the budget allows, trading up to a 6 cylinder.
Here is our Z3 and MY RX7 notice how I said our and MINE Both are great cars and have their strong points. We haven't done anything to the Z3 mostly due to the 7 using all the money but it is a great little car and fun to drive. A little under powered however. An carefulleye will reviel why:
I guess my sig should suffice, in addition to all that, I have the ultra-comfy adjustable center console elbow rest from www.z3solution.com and the window blanket from BMW as well as the Alpine 6 CD Changer in the trunk in addition to the in-dash CD player, I got the wood interior with Classic Black Leather, and I have the cute little analog clock (versus the on board computer).
Ok, it's my turn...

I bought mine about a year ago now, and it had 81,000 miles on it at the time. I drive it alot. I've since put on another 20,000, and I don't even drive it in the winter. High miles don't bother me - the car still drives great, and is tonnes of fun!

No mods yet, but I plan to change my wheels soon...

Hey guys--- I just stumbled onto this board. Thank God........that roadfly setup was driving me crazy. Anyway, I have a sterling grey 2001 Z3 2.5.
MODS:
K&N INTAKE(sucks)
17" MILLE MIGLIA EVO SPORTS W/
235/40 YOKOHAMAS
H&R SPRINGS
BMW OEM AERO KIT AND CLEAR THIRD BRAKE LIGHT(on the way!)
I am still trying to figure out what to do for exhaust and the pitiful stereo. I am also contemplating the DINAN stage 1 software to get rid of the "hesitation" at throttle tip in. Any one have experience with this? I'll post some pics after I put the kit on--------------Bill
- 1998 Black Z3 2.8, with 13,624 miles on the body, converted to a 3.2L(S52) M Roadster engine at EXACTLY 10,000 miles, therefore 3,624 miles on my 3.2L(and yes this was planned, get to 10k then swap, perhaps at EXACTLY 15k it might be just perfect timing to coughgetblowncough ) Still have my 2.8L engine sitting around at my uncles shop, if the 3.2 blows up then its back to the 2.8 or I might find an old E30 and drop 'er in there, does anyone else smell burning rice?
- tan top
- tan leather
- on board computer
- manual top(yes that would make me a manly man )
- HK sound system, 6 disc in the trunk, not too happy with the system for how much it cost and the stock sub rattles like a Diamondback Rattle snake enough to drive you crazy.
- Full M Roadster exhaust(except I still have my original muffler for that sleeper effect )
- ZF M Roadster 5 speed manual
- '98 M Spec brakes
- everything else is stock 2.8, wolf in sheeps clothing if you will
- Total cost a year and a half ago(bought the car used from my uncle with 5,382 miles, he wanted to get rid of it to buy an M Coupe ) including M Roadster conversion was $28,739, free labor, THANKS AGAIN UNCLE ROCK! Too bad he's not a member here...
