Hi,
My driver's side washer hasn't worked for years, and today I decided to check it out. What I found was that there is a hole in the side of the washer attachment (see photo) where water shoots out of on BOTH the driver and passenger side, and because the water goes to the passenger first, there's no pressure left for the driver's nozzle.
See that little hole?
Quite a bit of water shoots out of both of them.
What are the holes for? I mean, it makes no sense to intentionally put holes in the water line....
And what should I do about it? Can I safely just epoxy those holes closed? Is it some kind of pressure relief?
Thanks!

Maybe try sticking a round toothpick in the holes and see what happens. If it works go for a more perminate solution.

My X5 had this issue, I found it was from debris and wax that had clogged the nozzles. I figured pressure built up fluid remained in them long after I used them. I cleaned them out with a needle and some rubbing alcohol (to better remove the wax), ran them a few times, and never had the leaking issue again.
Good idea with toothpick. And I checked the nozzles. They're clear. I read one other poster had the holes on the side squirting water. I'm guessing they're some kind of pressure relief but I'm not sure. I wish I knew for sure.
