So I was transporting something that didn't really fit into the height of the roof, so I thought to put the top down in 41 degree weather, bad idea, the rear plastic window split in half down the middle. I am in the market for a new rear plastic window. Anyone know if the eBay ones are of decent quality? I would eventually replace the entire roof in the summer, because of some spots on the roof that are deteriorating, so I don't want to go OEM with the plastic window. Should I just duct tape it until then or buy a cheap ebay counterpart?![]()
My old window had a crack sealed with clear packing tape (was on the car when I bought it). It worked for a few years that way, through quite a few washes and pop-up rain storms just fine.
If the top us going to be swapped though, maybe just do that now?

I guess because I feel as if, the roof isn't deteriorated to a point where it would need immediate change. personally I think the roof could probably last a few years, but was wondering if ebay $100 rear window was worth it for the time being.
Emiata window worked well for me.
I had trouble getting an emiata window zipped up and ended up going with OEM. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did.

Rear windows can be a real pain to replace. If you're replacing the whole roof, I recommend some clear packing tape for a few months.

There is a heavy duty clear tape that I used on a rear window on a Boxster, just to get through a season, worked great, I was able to tape both sides to the fabric

I just used clear packaging tape, I did both sides as well. Hopefully it will hold up until I get the Emiata replacement. I've been looking through various posts and Mr. Bingley from Florida said to start to zip the Emiata replacement window from the outside with the zipper. I will try that first, since everyone else has problems zipping it up from the inside of the roof.
