Some of y'all may know, I had a headgasket blow and leak coolant into cyl. 5. I drove it back from Austin to San Antonio like this filling it up whenever I had to make a stop..
The car hasn't been running (properly) since around April '12. After reading reviews for transporting companies and getting worried about a lot of negative reviews (not from every company). Anywhere from $500-1100 range. I didn't want to risk anything so I decided to take the car to Atlanta myself.
It was a bit of struggle getting a non-running car onto a trailer, thank god my brother came to help when he did.
My first time trailer-ing anything behind my truck so it was an interesting experience. Super low MPG. I was pretty nervous in the beginning but I got pretty confident towing. I forgot that I had the car behind me at times and thought who the F* is tailgating me!
I didn't do one day of driving from San Antonio to Atlanta. We drove down to Houston the first night and left at 4 a.m. Driving in ATL traffic at night with a trailer was definitely not fun.
We arrived at Technica Motorsports around 6-7 p.m. safe and sound (just super duper tired 13-14hour drive). I don't think my eyes have ever felt THAT tired.
They've got some awesome cars in their shop. A super clean E30 from Illinois. Their S54 turbo E36 - fired right up, idled perfectly on start up. Super impressive stuff.
I will keep this thread updated as much as I can.
Right now these are for sure:

- Used cyl. head (built and ported)

Happy to see another coupe going with a turbo. Good luck with this Tony. I already subscribed to the thread because I know you'll keep it updated well.
Even if I never do something like this to my S54 I find these builds to be some of the most interesting threads.

They should base a Z3 kit from your car; I know a couple people who have been bugging them for one.

Awesome! One of my buddies here has a Technica kit, I'd love to go the same route one day soon. Fit/finish and power delivery is perfect.
First of all, AWESOME. Someday I hope to go FI. I will keep my eye on your kit when it goes up. Second, towing the first time can be a little scary, especially when you are carrying something valuable. The problem with gas motors in trucks is that while they get good fuel economy empty, when you hook any bit of load to them they are horrible.
18,000 pounds and I get 10.1 mpg. Empty around 19. I love diesel.

PM'd about your Stromung
Just saw this post when going back through the thread... yeh... I acquired an OEM M exhaust with midpipes and cats as originally wanted until I could save enough for a Stromung... then this opportunity popped up. Not sure if it will work out, but planning to put the Ansa up on eBay today or tomorrow.
I forgot to add this pic, DSchwarz M3 mmmm saw this on the way back home from Atlanta.
Motor is built and installed, charge pipes are being built and being sent to powder coater later this week. I think I might be redoing my wheels as well.
We are still on schedule to pick up the car towards the end of January.
They have a lot of stuff in the works over there,

Hey Tony, any update on the mid-pipe?
Hrm, I was hoping it was shipped already let me send them an email. Thanks for the heads up.
One of my favorite coupes, gonna be great
Oh cool. I didn't know you were in ATL.
Are some of those unspoken parts in ATL? like the exhaust?

Jajou,
I tried to PM you but your message box is full. I just moved to San Antonio about a month ago and have a 2000 M Coupe. I am very interested in the parts you will have for sale soon. Please message me with some contact info so I could take a look at what you have.
Wertles, I'm going with a standard E36 diff cover, the rogue one scrapes a lot for me (maybe if I had larger rims that'd be a different story). And yes the Rogue diff cover is sold, I'm just waiting for them to pull it.
Andy, I'm in San Antonio. Will be flying in to pick the car up though.
Exhaust was sold to Kurt, he resold on these forums not too long ago.
Ingalls, we need to get together when I get my coupe back.
I saw your car in pieces when i was at technica a few weeks ago. That thing is going to be a monster when they get done with it.
Hit me up when you come into town to pick her up, i work and live not far from the shop.
