Haven't checked any of the spot welds but I'll use my imagination (sound deadening is still in place).
Ouch.

Time to sell it to me
I should. I put the carpet back so I can ignore it a little bit longer. I sent Randy a PM to see what the cost is going to be and when he's ready in his FL house/shop :P
I was just about to let the mechanic have it to replace the HG, install ARP studs, Euro oil filter housing, Driven Innovations Intake Mani, and finally RMS headers. After that I was going to install my smaller pulley and get it remote tuned by Technica Motorsports in GA. I'm afraid this is all going to have to wait just a little bit longer...(it's been long enough I've had the intake mani for over a year now..)
So this came at a great time
Ouch At least you caught it before your car was held on by the exhaust... still, very unfortunate.
I get the feeling I am not the only one who scurried out to his car to double check their rear subframe after this thread

That sucks dude. Good luck getting it sorted.
Rechecked mine and everything is still pristine for now.
All I have paid attention to thus far is DI manifold
Sorry to see the subframe pain, I know that feeling, twice will you....

Bummer, but we all face it sooner or later. I had Randy do mine about a month ago--he does such beautiful work--incredible attention to detail. Yesterday I went to instal a battery tender (trickle/float) and I noticed that my battery terminals and posts looked like new. Randy had cleaned them and wire brushed them--not just the mounting points, but each terminal and post completely. It sucks to have the problem, but it is so nice to know he is out there. What a pleasure to remove the carpet to get to the battery tray and see the reinforcement--just a little reminder that my car is perfect--better than new. This is what inspired me to jump on the VAC supercharger group buy--now my car can handle it. Whatever he charges, it is so worth it.
Where did you buy the euro filter housing and cooler set up, and how much? I am in the market for one (to go with the SC), and want to be sure to get the best deal/set up.
I posted in the VAC S/C thread about the oil filter housing. As for the cooler I've had one in place, I'm getting rid of my Victory Product Design oil cooler cap (it won't fit because of my new manifold).
I may be taking it to Vorshlag to get repaired. Check out the E30 they did:

Ignore all the dirty bits. That was on the GRM $2010 Challenge car. That brace and diff held up to our healthy mix-and-match mongrel LSx engine. Too bad the budget driven V6-T5 didn't. Note that the trunk floor was also removed on that car. For most cars we'd leave the trunk floor alone.
Since then that car got a flat trunk floor, rear camber-caster-toe adjusters welded to the subframe and a five lug conversion.
If jajou318 goes ahead with the reinforcements we'll expose his dirty underside by taking lots of Vorshlag style pics for you guys.

Haha, well when I said I'd be up there to pick up some studs in the future I didn't think I'd be getting a subframe touch up!
The Vorshlag subframe is made up from square tube except the heavy gauge landing pads on the frame rails. We're getting a price worked up for Jajou318. I think there are a lot of in-progress shots in the E30-V8 build.
Yep, just looked it up. In the GRM E30 V8 gallery starting on page 46.

No need to quote the image
Its in the rear, its the rear subframe trunkfloor. Peel up the carpet to take a look yourself. Look around the outside edge to check for popped welds or similar damage as pictured. Also a good idea to climb under the car and check where the shocks mount from the bottom of the car, these can also be problematic.

Well I've already got an estimate. If you are curious you can PM me and I can discuss what I was quoted.
I wish I lived closer to their shop. I will be dropping my car off on the 28th, flying back down and then flying up when it's ready. Tickets already purchased. I'm glad I'm finally taking care of this problem.
Dang. Good luck..subscribing for pics
Terry anyway to view the thread photos as a gallery rather than clicking through all 400+ photos one at a time?
