I have just about completed my console swap, but have run into a problem I should’ve foreseen…
I've searched the forums and found where people had same obstacle, but have not found any write-up on how to fix without sourcing the appropriate wiring harness/connectors from an MZ3 or Coupe (difficult?). Below is the picture of the old squared-off switches, and the new rounded switches. The connectors on the back of the switch are different.
Left Side = Old Switches / Connectors
Right Side = New Switches / Connectors
Questions:
(1)Power Roof Switch: Can you just cut off the tab on the white plug without worry of a different pin layout? My wiring diagrams don’t reference a difference in the pin assignments between old and new switch designs – but wondering if anyone has done this?
(2)ASC Switch: This blue connector is completely different – new one has a flat 4-pin connector. I’m thinking of just using single pin jumpers like the bottom right picture, but a bit worried about them working their way off over time. Anyone else have a different/better solution?
Thanks!
Answering my own Q's...
(1) Yes - this works just fine, switch install complete now.
(2) Ordered 4-pin connector (0.1" pitch) from Mouser.com to fit this without worry of sliding off
Here's the link to the pdf product page:
http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogUSD/641/1387.pdf
Part Numbers:
571-1022412 (4-pin connector / 0.1" pitch - need 1)
571-876673 (individual female connectors - need 4)
This connector may not actually "lock" in place, but I highly doubt it would just fall off from vibration either.

Nice job!~
Final update for those putting MZ3 console in a Z3
ASC switch pinout / wiring assignments:
(1) Power from fuse F21 (Green/Blue/Yellow)
(2) Ground to Chassis (Brown)
(3) Dimmer Light Power (Gray/Red)
(4) To ABS/ASC Control Unit (Blue/Violet)
Also - the previously mentioned part number for the 4 pin plug works fine. I did have to cut off the "detent latching" to fit appropriately.
