    Un-Official bf.c Z3 Performance and Power Rankings

    Ok guy's and gal's I'll try to keep up with the new version of this 'ole thread.

    In order to be added to the list you must post your Screen-name/power/times/car/setup in the same format that's used below. Sorry, it's just a PITA to format everyone's numbers and times individually, help a brother out.

    For Power:
    screen name: ### hp; ### lb-ft (xx FI;/y)

    Where by:
    ## = WHP and RWTorque number
    xx = 'S' for a motorsport engine (S50-S52-S54) or 'M' for a standard engine (M52-M54)
    FI = Forced induction (if any: Turbo-CF-TS)
    y = Z3 Model (7 for Roadsters 8 for coupes)

    For Pass times:
    screen name: Time @ MPH (xx;/y)

    Confirmed numbers only - not speculation. Post a dyno sheet or timeslip if you've got one (please format the image for page width). I'd like to add a 60-130 V-box run catagory at some point too.

    OK, this is to keep track of the power put down and the times put up by our cars on the dyno and at the track. if you have numbers, please post them!

    Everytime I've looked at those numbers, I am always amazed at how fast Silverstreak was relative to his HP numbers. Compare his times for his car at any stage relative to the vehicles above and below and you can tell he knew how to obtain max performance out of any car.
    Now in E92 M3 ZCP -- Absolute beast

    Can't find my dyno sheet, but the car made 220rwhp and 210rwhp with my current mods.
    “If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28

    He needs to get to the track to support those dyno numbers. Trap speeds don't lie, but dyno numbers can lie.

    True. I honestly dont expect to trap lower than sub 14s. And thats a hopeful statement as Im farely unexperienced as a drag racer
    ET is based on how good your 60ft is and how quickly you can shift and where you shift. Normally for our cars redline is your best bet unless your dyno tells you that you are making your most power before redline.

    The trap speed is what will back up your dyno sheet. Iceman00 essentially makes the same rwhp and tq as me so he should be able to trap very close to what I am trapping within a mph or 2. If he traps something like 98mph then his dyno sheet is lying. I have every confidence that he can trap 100mph though and I hope he proves me right sooner rather than later .

    Eh, I'm not too sure. I could tick off 91mph+ traps when I was stockish with the intake, even with a supposed 20whp more (and then some with the new manifold) I don't know that I picked up 7-9mph. But that said, I do run with quick company.

    What dyno did you pull the 210rwhp number on? When I was stock I made 200rwhp and was trapping 100mph. With the M50 mani and the catback I gained 2.5mph which did back up my dyno number I have now. Normally 10rwhp will give you about 1mph in the 1/4 mile so with 20rwhp I gained 2.5mph. However the gears help with that as well.

    What diff do you have in your car?

    Stock diff.
    First dyno I pulled 185 with just a custom intake, it's a Land and Sea dyno I think. The second dyno (I just added headers, and on the same dyno) I made 210. No gears, no tuning, nothing else. But now I'm sure my maf is in pretty rough shape, so I dunno what will happen now.

    Wow! Didn't realize that HKS SC put out that much HP!

    Dave had close to 10,000 passes at a drag strip when he ran those numbers. He's the Master and my inspiration.

    Maybe time to update the list and get rid of some of the carsthat are no longr around?

    Also I looked up CoMZ302 and his posts suggest he had an S54 and not S52 therefore making is NA number much more in line with the other cars.

    OZ3M=jonesmechanical now. Here is the most recent graph that Omar had in the thick receipt list. I spent presidents day wiring in a new M&W CDI Box. Not running yet, just need to hookup the laptop and verify TDC and check the timing batches. So....currently 0 RWHP. With the help of Mike Radowski it will be happy again.

    Omar said that the dyno that he had did not reflect the most recent updates (back in 2005). He claimed it was making about 660 wheel at 22 psi after the AEM and Water/Alky injection was tuned. I believe it, but it will be fun to verify. Although not a huge fan, I have a few friends that have been begging me to run it at the local 1/4 mile track. I am curious to see how a complete newbie can do with such a capable car. For me, I would rather have drive a 200 hp on a road course than a 750 hp car on a drag strip (even though I am a fan of watching Pass Time on Speed).

    As for Clint, I don't think he ever officially dyno'd his car, surprisingly.

    In the PBMW feature, Omar was quoted in saying he ran it only once, taking it easy on the car running street tires (315 30 18 pilots sports) and it ran 11.6 @ 131. I know that going to the track can be very humbling, but honestly, I would go, and just focus on a good trap speed ignoring the lights. You can deduce then what the car would run with an average 60' time.

    One of my best friends built a 1600 lb lotus "locost" with a sr20det motor running a gt3071 turbo. It even had 345 30 18 pilot sport cups (yea, not exactly a drag tire) he was over 350 wheel on a lower boost setting. He ran a 16.1 . Lots of traction issues, even with race logic running, it would just make him really slow.
