How is that car running at that mileage? Any major issues along the way?

At the rate I've been going, it will be close to 2050 before I roll over 200k!

Wowza. Also interested to know the maintenance history and details of this car. I never figured the e46 as robust a car as the e30 or e36.

Wow, it's very nice to see some of the more "modern" cars accumulating such impressive mileage, like the recent Roundel article about the guy w/ the 200+k '00 M5 that's going strong. I'll be interested, too about how your car is doing. The '04 I just got is a real youngster so I'll probably never even get to 100k with it!

My '04 has 32k on it and I bought it with 26k in 2008 so it will be a LONG time... but the 540 has 262k, if that counts!
    Pondering what it all means...

I'm putting high miles on my 03 since I bought it . So far I'm just at 85k but I put 20k in 9 months and enjoying every minute of it. I was going to sell it but I'm going to mod it and drive it into the ground. Then the vanos explodes If the motor goes with it I'm going to drop an ls1 in there (more likely a 550 rwhp mild 402 stroker)

Jeez man are you really enjoying the car driving it so little? What's the point of preserving a car if our bodies are rotting at a faster rate.

I'll cry when I discover the first door ding!

Really, it's a product of having too many cars... need to downsize the fleet so I can keep the M in the garage rather than in storage.

I have an '03 and half SMG with 150,000 mi. The only major repair was a vanos replacement in 2009 but everything else has been oil changes and tires and a bushing here or there. The car still runs like it did when I bought it with 32k miles. No SMG issues either.

There was an 01 LSB that had been in a car accident and was being auctioned. It had over 300k miles.

Also, I just came over from M3forum reading about an 05 with 40k miles that has vanos problems. Really happy to see that pic of 201k

I just picked mine up at 109k it is in great shape and good running condition. I'll be doing an Inspection II at the end of the summer and then all my buyer's remorse/doubts will be taken care of! I always hate the part of buying a used car were you every time you get in it you expect the wheels to fall off of it.

Great to see all the high mileage, its awesome to think at only 40K I can potentially get another 160K out of mine!!

I'm at 90k. The M3 is too addicting to drive.
