    An X2? Really?

    http://www.autoblog.com/2015/10/12/t...rom-x4-and-x6/

So now we have an X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 ... anybody taking bets when we will see an X7 or X9?
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

    lol
From an enthusiast standpoint it is pretty stupid. But these models share so many parts with other models that its a winner for the investors. I quite like the proportions of the X2 I'm seeing as well... but final design may prove questionable

I seem to remember passing my dealership back in the day and them flying 3 5 7 flags between the American and state flag. Now they would need 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 X I Z M... Sorry, it's getting out of control in my opinion.

I don't see why anybody cares whether they offer 4 models or 400. The vehicles are arguably at least as high-quality as they were "back then". If you liked the BMW brand back then, you'll like it now.

I'm a BMW fan, but I dislike E39s, E60s, E65s, E90s and whatever the hell designation X1s are. I used to dislike E83s until I spent a weekend in one, and now I'm tolerant of them (in part due to their proven, E46-like reliability, no doubt). BMWs still have the consistent, well-balanced handling and relatively luxurious interiors that previous models had. (Except the E90 interiors seemed to be a step backward).

Do you have any idea how much blacksmiths make nowadays?

I don't get it. E46 is unreliable garbage. I don't see how it makes the E83 more stomachable.

We got a few of the new X1s in last week. I saw the transverse mounted engine and threw up in my mouth a little bit...

I must agree that is quite disappointing. Will it be offered in an AWD variant?

Wonder if BMW will be making any cars in FWD....

Now if you want to really look special you have to drive an exotic. BMW/Merc/Audi have really cheapened over the years. But, everytime I drive mine it puts a big smile on my face.

Yea the new X1 is front wheel drive. It's a sad day to see that happen. It does have all wheel drive but only engages rear drive when needed. Engine is transversely installed.

Well, certainly, the most important thing is how you look to others!

FWIW, the spy photos with the "camouflage" look almost like they could be the same as the X1s we just had delivered.

aaaaaaand of course ... now that I can see both of those photos on the same screen, the side glass does appear narrower and the sides less contoured on the camo car.

    Agreed

Having that many models in your lineup is ridiculous.
