BMW rechargeable flashlights where does it charge??

    Hi
This is my first post on this forums and sorry if this a real noob question to ask but im in to computers not cars. My dad said to me today do you know where this thing plugs in(and showed me the BMW rechargeable flashlights)? i replied get me the book out. i read it and it says it plugs in on the left hand side of the glovebox but there is no connector so where does go? My dad drives a 530d its a 53reg(im in the UK btw) if you could please show me some pictures of where it goes
    Thanks in advance

the slot is where your father told you....in most BMW's that is.
if you can't locate the male end of the power source...then your car does not have this option.

open the glovebox....look to the top left.
it is a 3" long .5" wide male plug.

It is in the glovebox for that is where connector is for charging light, usually in upper left corner of glovebox, at least that is where it was on all my Bimmers.

I am almost positive that ALL bmw's come with the flashlight. My '03 had it, and my '08 has it.

The flashlight charging socket is located in the upper left section of the glove compartment. I have one in my E60 and also had one in my E46.

TX5 is yours left hand drive or right?? because my dads 530d is right hand drive and the connector seems to be on the right hand side of the glovebox but the connector doesn't fit the flashlight.

I am in the U.S. so my car has left hand drive. Have you tried to insert the flashlight into the charging socket both ways? When my flashlight is in the charger the on/off switch is on the bottom.

Thanks for your help i contacted BMW and i have found out that it is on the right hand side of my glove box my dad didn't try to see if it fitted the other way(silly him lol) and that the manual is wrong. Just 1 more thing does your cable come out as well or is it a push in and pull out of the hole for it in the glovebox?
    Thanks in advance,
    D.

My charging socket is fixed, there is no cable. The flashlight is pushed into/pulled out of the socket firmly.

I just got my 2008 535xi, the dealer told me rechargeable flashlights were discontinued because of electrical problems. It that true?
