Ever seen a S52 head.....cut in half?

I got bored earlier this week and my bandsaw made short work of my old S52 head. Pretty interesting. I cut it right down the middle of the #5 cylinder.

It's pretty neat how much additional cooling they put around the exhaust ports compared to the intake ones. The center of the U shaped coolant passage on the exhaust side is actually a tiny coolant passage way that sits in-between the bridge between the exhaust valves.
