Thread: how do you remove the shift knob?

    Just pull harder. The shift knob will give before you rip the transmission out of the transmission mounts. Try to remove it after its sat for awhile, if you try to remove it just after its been driven the shifter rod will be heated up and will have expanded thus making removal harder than if it was cooled off.

    If you twist you have a chance of splitting the knob. Like if you have wood/black whatever it is. The wood could peel away.
