Hello,
I'm a new owner of a 2001 BMW X5 4.4, I'd like to know what is the best engine oil to use on this model??
Many thanks.....
Join BMWCCA and just get the BMW synthetic 5-30 oil. Not the E46 M3 10-60.
SOLD: '96 Artic Silver M3/2 Lux Click here for pic's. 2003 X5 4.6is: Nav, loading floor, comfort seats
2007 E90 335i: Titanium Silver/Black/Aluminum trim, Sport, Premium, Heated seats (for the wife), iPOD, MORR VS7
2011 E92 M3: Space Grey/Black/Blue aluminum trim, Premium, iDrive, DCT
Has anyone used Amsoil's 5/30 synthetic? Since BMW recommends an oil change about every 15k miles I thought the 25k mile Amsoil might be a good option.
Any thoughts?
I use amsoil products. 5w-30 in the x5 4.4
they now have a euro formula I think it's 5w-40.
the BMW(castrol) synthetic is a group III oil. For a 12-15k drain interval I'd feel better with a group 4. I'd still change the filter at 7500 miles though.
