Benefits of an oil filter relocation kit?

As the thread title states. Curious what's the main benefit, specifically for turbo cars. VAC used to sell what seemed like a quality kit for ~$450-$500 but does no longer have it listed.

We don't really have any need to relocate the filter or use a different filter. Seems to be something only a few racers bother doing on these motors.

It might come in handy for designing a new intake manifold with short runners and big plenum....., maybe a front entry.

I have seen them used a lot on M42 cars. Mocal makes a takeoff plate that seems to be popular.

I don't think it's worth it, we have a superior setup compared to so many cars why mess with it.
