Engine swap 1.9 to 2.8

So I have a 97 z3 with a 1.9l I'm trying to figure out if I can do an engine swap to a 2.8l my year came with both models I'm trying to find out how to go about doing it and how much work is going to need to be done as in is it just drop in with same harness and just get new wiring harnesses?

Hello, you've posted in the Z3/Z4/Z8 classifieds section, try posting in the Z3 forum section for a better response. Short answer, anything's possible, but not nearly as simple as just swapping engines. People are likely to tell you it's easier and cheaper to sell the 1.9 car, buy a 2.8 car, and pay the difference.
