Hey guys,
So I needed to replace my lower control arms on the passenger and driver side of my 2001 330Ci. I've replaced both arms, but noticed when I was putting on the new passenger side control arm, there was no hole drilled in the arm for me to reattach the ride height sensor for the auto adjusting headlights. I started the CA replacement on the passenger side, so I went ahead and kept moving along on it even though I knew I would have an issue with the ride height later on. Well....that's where I am now. My headlights low beam are much lower than they were prior to replacing the control arms, and I know it has to be due to that ride height sensor being disconnected.
My question here is this: Is there a way to bypass this sensor and manually adjust the headlight height and just leave the sensor off? This would be preferred, because otherwise, I'll be removing that control arm to drill a hole to attach the ride height sensor (something just the thought of makes me cringe 0_o)
Also, how important is this part really? I understand the functionality and it seems like a cool feature, but if I don't have to remove this damn control arm again, I'd be a very happy boy.
Any insight on this would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Just jack it up and drill a hole. Takes 2 seconds. Why would you take it off?
Also buy better quality parts next time
