2003 X5 4.4i
Hi guys just had an issue with my baddass X5. Starts up runs great, all gears from 1st to 5th. When it warms up it goes to trans fail safe mode and runs badly. It gets stuck in 4th or 5th gear, Sport or M mode do not work after that. Any ideas, because I have not done anything to it for it to change. I did drive for an hour in the city and car never changed to 4th for a while since it was a constant stop an go, and was turning it on and off before this happened. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks !

How old is your battery? Low battery will cause TFSm,
if you have a chance (know how to) check plugs on the tranny and in the E-Box for TCU if there is any signs of oil,
