Hi guys I have just ordered this product from eBay
Listed here

I have noticed that I is not compatible with the e36 328i although I didn't not check my car yet but will soon. However my 328i will have 1 or 2 pins on the wiring and this alternator has 3 pins. Does anybody know what I need to do in a how to custom wire the 1 or 2 pins on to the 3 or even add a wire?
I did like 6 hours of googling and all i found is that it will bolt up and fit but the question is how to wire it.
Thanks in advance.
PS: I am aware this is a 250A high output alternator. I purposely bought this for my powerful sound system that I'm putting in. It does turn out there is nothing over 140Amps for the proper one for my car
Bump
Hi,
What's the RMS power output of the Amplifiers you'll be using in your audio install?
Also, why not ask the place you purchased it from if they already do an E36 item? you could also ask them what the extra pin is for as they'll know for the connection in the car's it's listed for. Also, check the E36 section to see what that 3rd pin is connected to.
Cheers, Dennis!
Thanks I have called them up and they told me the 3rd pin is a dummy and not in use while the middle pin is the battery light and the 1st pin may be the DME. They also said it may be required to run a wire from the alternator to the ignition switch...
Does anybody know if this is true or not? Most importantly the ignition switch part?
Also am running 2 Orion hcca 10.4 powered by 2 Rockville rxd-m5's each Rockville amp is running 1000 wrms each according to my multimeter and clamp meter readings. I also have the bavsound stage one speaker upgrade with the cheap lanzar htg668bt for now. Head unit is the Sony mex-n5150bt. So totalling is 2500 wrms give or take

It turns out I have only a b+ power wire and a ground. Meaning my car has no small gauge wires that should go to any of the pins. Btw I have got and picked up my alternator today from the post office but before I install it does anybody know if I can put it on without connecting any wires to the 3 pins??? Does anybody have answers? Bump..
Ps: I've called the seller and he could not tell me any answers because it's not made compatible to my car.
